Now you will need need: a USB pen drive (4GB or greater in size), the Windows 8 Developer Preview disk image file (64-bit download here, 32-bit download here), Microsoft’s Windows 7 USB tool (download here) and of course a working PC.

Once you have all those, follow these steps:

    1. Double click on Windows7-USB-DVD-tool.exe and click “run” when prompted.
    2. Follow the on-screen instructions by clicking Next, and then Install.
    3. When the installer is finished, click the Finish button.
    4. Install and run Microsoft’s Windows 7 USB tool. In the subsequent window browse to the 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 8 disk image file you’ve already downloaded. Hit next.
    5. With your USB stick plugged in (remember, it’ll need to be at least 4GB in size for a 64-bit install), choose USB device as your media type.
    6. Select the correct removable device from the drop-down menu, then click begin copying.
    7. Sit back, relax, while the USB tool formats your pen drive, makes it bootable, and copies over all of the Windows 8 files.
    8. Once the process is complete, the USB drive can be used to boot a PC and run the Windows 8 setup process.

That’s it. You saved yourself a DVD, the Windows 8 setup process should be quicker from flash-based media, and it’s of course a must on netbooks or laptops lacking an optical drive.

Get Windows 8 Metro UI Start Screen In Windows 7 Using Metro7

Metro7 is a free app that turns your Windows 7 system into a Metro version of Windows 8. It’s free and it’s super easy to install. Simply download it and run it. It’s simple as that.

After installation, Metro7 can be launched from a shortcut after then the Metro UI appears. The widgets of this UI provide time and date information, access to built-in metro store, and shortcuts to websites like Facebook and Badoo. If you Click on the arrow on the top right-side it displays additional options, which allow you to pin any application as a metro tile, configure application settings and exit the metro interface.

Overall, Metro7 is a good application for emulating the Windows 8 MetroUI style interface on your Windows 7 desktop, however, it still seems to be under construction as some of the widgets simply lead to a blank page and many of the  website shortcuts on the main interface seem to be there to fill the main interface. To Reset Windows 8:

Think of it as restoring it to the state you first installed Windows 8, or how you received your PC when you bought it.

Note: All your personal files will be deleted and all configuration changes will be reset to default.

    2. Once the control panel has opened scroll through the list on the left hand side, and Click the General category. This will load snap the General settings panel.

    8. If you have more than one drive, you will be asked which drives you want to remove files from. You can choose just the drive which Windows resides on or all drives.

    9. You will be prompted for confirmation that you want to reset your PC. Click the Reset button to get started.

    10. Your PC will then reboot.Once it reboots Windows will Start the Reset process.

Once it has finished, your PC will appear as you are booting the PC for the first time.

    To Refresh Windows 8:

How to Install Windows 8 on PC or Mac

The Windows 8 Developer Preview is a pre-beta version of Windows 8 for developers.Microsoft has been constantly working to make the next version of Windows a better one by improving upon the previous existing features, and have added new impressive Windows 8 features along with a stunning User Interface.

    1. First off be sure to Download a copy of Windows 8 and you will also need to download a copy of Virtual Box from here.
    2. Now once you’ve installed Virtual Box, it’s time to set up your virtual machine.
    3. Next you want to click on the New icon ( top left – blue) this will begin the setup wizard, hit next and it will then ask you what it is you want to install. Fill in the details.
    4. Note: select Windows 8 not Other Windows OS from the drop down menu.
    5. After you’ve filled all this in, click next and you will be asked how much RAM you want to allocated to the virtual box. I went for 2.0 GB but depending on how much RAM you have you might want to increase or decrease this.
    6. The next step will be allocating a virtual hard drive for Windows 8 to run on. The default is 20GB and this should be plenty. Unless you already have prepared a partition or Virtual Drive it’s easier just to let Virtual Box do the work for you. I opted for a VHD in this case instead of the default Virtual Box Drive Image but that shouldn’t make a difference.
    7. You will also be asked if you want a Dynamic Drive or Fixed Drive. I change it to Fixed drive. This means that the Drive size will not change.
    8. You will be asked what size you want the drive. I left mine as the default 20GB.
    9. Now once you click next you’ll be asked to confirm that you want to create these virtual drives, go ahead and confirm this and then we can get on to installing Windows 8.
    10. Once you get back to Virtual Box you will see a new Machine has been added. Highlight that machine and then click Start. This will boot up the machine and run the first boot setup wizard. It’s now that you will be asked where you would like to install an OS from. Select the Windows 8 Developer Preview ISO image from wherever you saved it.
    11.  Click next and the Windows 8 setup wizard will begin.
    12. Simply follow the steps and accept the license agreement.
    13. Windows will ask you if you want to upgrade or do a custom install.
    14. Select Custom install as we are installing the OS from scratch.
    15. You will then be asked to confirm where it is you want to install Windows 8. Select the Virtual hard drive you created earlier and click next.
    16. After this then Windows 8 will begin to install itself. All you have to do is wait and let it do its thing and enter information when asked.

you should now have installed Windows 8 on your system! Have fun.
