Disable Logoff from Ctrl+Alt+Del via Group Policy

In this article, we will learn how we can disable log off option from CTRL+ALT+DEL using group policy. To implement this option we need a windows server, a domain controller and the client computer which is on the domain as in this case the domain is UsamaZaka.local.

It is very simple to disable log off option from CTRL+ALT+DEL. Open the windows server and browse to the tools to select the Active Directory Users and Computers.

In active directory, we have to create or select an OU where we have the users and we want to disable log off option.

In this case, our OU is “Technology Interns” and we have got 4 user accounts.

Now since we have decided our desired OU we will move towards the second step of creating a group policy.

Open the server manager browse to Tools and look for “Group Policy Management”

In group policy management search for the OU which we had decided and right-click on it to select the first option.

In New GPO enter the name of group policy as I have given “Disable Logoff option”

Press Ok and now you can see the newly created GPO under our OU.

Right-click on it and select “Edit”

Once GPM editor is opened select User Configuration to expand Policies and click on Administrative template.

Now browse to system and expand it to select “CTRL+ALT+DLT” option.

From the group, policies select “Remove Logoff” and double-click on it to edit this group policy.

From the remove logoff console choose the “Enable” option by clicking on it.

Click on Apply and then Ok to save this policy. Now it’s time to test whether this policy is working or not. Log in to the client computer with any of the “Technology Interns” OU user and press CTRL+ALT+DLT. You will see that Logoff option is no more coming up on the list.
