How to Disable Windows Update Delivery Optimization

You might be asking why would I disable Windows Update Delivery Optimization (WUDO)? Well here it is, Windows 10 is “stealing” your Internet Bandwidth. How? Handling millions of simultaneous downloads is quite difficult for the company.

So, in order to deal with the issue, Microsoft has a new hidden feature into its latest Windows 10 desktop operating system that uses torrent-style approach to obtain software updates, allowing Windows 10 users to download updates from other users, Thus slowing down your network.

Disable Windows Update Delivery Optimization

To turn this feature OFF, follow these steps:

Go to Start menu then Settings.

Search to select Update & Security

On the right under Windows Update, click on Advanced Options

Select Choose how updates are delivered link.

Under Updates from More than One Place select Off. Make sure is off very important. that’s it.

This feature is great to speed up Microsoft software updates, but enabling it by default without your consent is not at all a good idea.
