Simple Trick to Increase Hard Drive Space Windows 7

If your hard drive is short on space you might want to consider reducing the size of your Recycle Bin. By default Windows reserves 10% of your hard drive for the bin. You can save up to 4GB of space if you resize a bin to 1% on a 60GB hard drive.

You can re-size individual drive or all of them globally.

1. Right click the Recycle bin and select Properties from the context menu.

2. Select the Local Disk drive from the dialog box.

3. Under “Settings for selected location” check mark Custom size and enter an amount equal or less than 1 GB. (1 GB = 1024 MB)

4. click apply and Ok to save changes.
