How to Install Windows Server 2016

Insert the Windows Sever 2016 Disc and power up the server. If you are using a virtual machine, attach the Windows Server 2016 ISO to the virtual machine and Start the virtual machine.

Once the VM or server boots up, it will display a screen to configure the language, Time and keyboard settings. Select the settings that applies to you and click on next.

Click on Install Now

Select the version you want to install. To install the GUI version select “Desktop Experience” Then click Next.

Agree to the License terms by placing a Check-mark on “I accept the license terms” and click Next.

Select Custom: Install Windows Only (advanced).

Select the drive where you want to install Windows server 2016 and click Next.

Now wait for the installation process to finish.

Note: it might re-boot several times please let it run and do not interrupt the process.

When the install process is complete, you will be asked to create the Administrator password. Create an admin password and click Finish.

Now log in using the Admin username and password.

After a minute or two, you should be running a brand-new Windows Server 2016.

Make sure the timezone and the time is correct. If it isn’t, go ahead and change it.
