Why Should You Upgrade LinkSys Firmware?
Firmware upgrades are quite common for computer devices. Many times upgrading firmware adds enhancements to a device, such as an added feature in a cell phone or the ability to decode specific types of files in an MP3 player. Many times a new version of firmware is available for upgrade to fix bugs or to add security measures. For instance, if a security flaw has been found in a router, a new version of firmware might be available in order to reduce the risk that the security flaw will be exploited.

[..YouTube..] man i think i messed my router up.. i was upgrading the firmware.. to whatever the latest one was for my model router.. and in the process of upgrading the webpage had a error while loading and now my router isn’t working at all… and the power light is flashing consistantly which i’m not sure is suppose i’ve never really noticed it before

I have the same linksys router as you same model and same make,
I downloaded the firmware at the moment which is 8.2 whereas the firmware I have got on my router now is V1.02.7 I have followed the steps it says sucess but whereas in the top right corner it still says the same V which its saying V1.02.7 rather than the 8 version why is that I tryed doing it 4 times now and got to the sucess page but still not changed it in the right corner what am I doing wrong thanks hope you get back

That was the file I needed to use… finally figured it out.
